My story

I, Amanda Borneke, grew up in a small town called Ã…hus. My passion for the wellbeing of our planet started already at an age of twelve when I decided to become an vegetarian long before the diet became a norm.

At university, I decided to study a trans-disciplinary bachelor degree in Environmental science, were I figured sustainable and behavioural interests were often contradictory. To develop my understanding of these two conflicting interests of mine and interlinkages between different development issues, I studied a master in Environmental communication and management at SLU. I’m qualified in areas such as nudging, brand development, system-thinking and communication, amongst many more. How we measure and engage sustainable behaviour is my academic speciality.

Apart from the academic work I started my career as a change maker at the age of 22, when I joined the Nudging Sweden. I spent the first months coordinating the blog and create sparks in the national network. to promote nudging. Eventually I became the Environmental communicator of their organisation A Win win world. We created a platform where nudging and networking where at focus. It became one of the first in Sweden within the movement. Today, thanks to my hard work, I’m now founder of my own consultant company.

I first started as an consultant for the private sector was when I was as young as 23, where I started to qualify grocery stores as organic. It accelerated quickly from grocery store to the hotel business, where I have, for instance, been coordinating with sustainability according to the method of Nordic Choice Hotels.

Despite the years of studies and work in Sweden my major passion is to travel. I went on my first world trip when I was 14 where the inequality in Kenya and Tanzania first made me interested in social issues. Since then, I have scuba-dived in the Caribbean sea, volunteered in rural areas in Northern india, learned about small-scale Agroforestry farming in Zambia, spent Christmas in the Netherlands, interviewed textile workers in Uttarakhand, lived on an abounded island for a week, inter-railed from Enschede to Venedig, explored Fiji and Tonga by boat form island to island for several weeks, worked remotely from India, Africa and the Netherlands.

Did I mentioned I have 3 years of experience of Scuba diving and I’m a qualified Open Water diver?

I’m extremely passionated about life and to create possibilities for healthy living.
